Psycho-biological meaning of rape.

In this blog, I will be talking to males only.
 -------------------
"I will rape you" biologically means "I will forcefully deposit my sperms in your uterus."

You have seen in Hindi movies of the 1970's through 1990's, that the heroine, cornered by the villain, tearfully and fearfully pleads him not to rape her, or she will be destroyed, she will be 'dishonored', and she will have to live shamefully the rest of her life. (That the hero intervenes at the moment and saves her, is a part of the fictional screenplay).

Why is the reproductive system of females highlighted so much in our society? Why does her 'honor' depend on her biological virginity? Why is the woman considered to be simply a baby-producing machine?

Why is a man's virginity never questioned? Because it cannot be verified? Because there is no proof that whether he has had sex before or not? So there is no apparent "loss" of virginity. Women, on the other hand, lose their virginity once, and for all. That's why Ram questioned Sita's chastity and asked her to undergo Agni Pariksha (Virginity test, checking for Ravan's sperms). Ravan had not raped the hostage Sita, and so she tested negative. Still, back in Ayodhya, Ram questioned her virginity again, and this time, asked her for an Agni Pariksha in his open court. Sita felt so thoroughly insulted that she committed suicide on the spot.

Notice : Sita never questioned Ram's virginity/chastity even though he also was away from her during her hostage days. Is sexual 'purity' limited to women only? Don't men need to be 'pure'? If a guy sleeps with 5 women, he is a stud. If a girl sleeps with 5 men, she is a slut, right? Yaar, tired of these double standards of this male-dominated society!

Do you respect your sperms? Do you reserve them exclusively for your wife or do you pass it on to any woman indiscriminately? Are your sperms cheap that they can be scattered anywhere, even uninvited? If you have to force yourself on a woman,  it means your sperms are not welcome. Only your wife can ask you for them.

Can a woman rape a man? From now onwards, Yes! The sexual self-esteem of females has been growing.  She will not beg her husband to "give" her sex. Whether sex will happen or not is not does not depend only on the man. No more marital rape, please! You need to ask your wife whether she wants sex tonight. Watch the movie ASTITVA (Tabu) for details.

Beauties of Nature for me

Seen

1) March 23-26, 1996 : Comet Hyakutake.

The first surprise. I saw a "tailed star" for the first time.
I was too young in 1986 to watch the Halley's comet.

2) March-May 1997 : Comet Hale-Bopp.

My best teenage memory.

For a whole 2.5-3 months, Comet Hale-Bopp brightened up the sky.

The end of February first brought it to the pre-morning sky, where I saw a huge-tailed bright comet like a conspicuous stain in the star-studded sky.

By the end of March, this guy was in the evening sky, as almost bright as the planet Venus, with a bushy tail.

3) October 24th, 1995 : 98% Solar Eclipse.

Began at 7:30 am.

Did not need a pin-hole camera : the tress and plants around provided thousands of them.

The 98% eclipse came a little before 9 am.

4) Feb 20th, 2008  : Total Lunar Eclipse.

A classmate in the Sanskrit class earlier in the day told me about it. And for a couple of hours, I watched "Rahu" swallow the moon, and yet she was visible as the coppery red disc.

5) December 1999 :  Gemenid Meteor Shower.

It was the night of Dec 13-14. Just an hour's observation  treated me and my sister with several Geminids, about one every 3 minutes.

Yet-to-be seen

1) Aurora Borealis/Autralis.

This colorful light show would be an absolute visual treat. If I move to Norway, I would have ample opportunities.

2) Tsunami.

God forbid! I would want to see it, but only after the coast has been evacuated by a warning at least an hour ago.

A Tsunami reiterates how powerful Nature is. And how much energy is in store, yet to be harnessed for the use of the mankind.

3) Leonid Meteor Shower.

I missed the grand Leonid meteor shower in November 1999. It was hardly visible from India. On the night of the highest activity, I saw a lone meteor at 2 am. It was a bright, greenish snake zooming across the zenith.

Nature is so very beautiful. Why do we dirty it? Why are we destroying the environment? Why do we use plastic? Why are we polluting our Mother Earth? Why are we so ungrateful?

 ----------------------------------------------------------
National Anthem : Jana Gana Mana
Written by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)
"Between Himaalaya and Hind Maha Saagar (Indian Ocean), this land is called Bhaarat, and its people are its destiny."
----------------------------------------------------------
National Song : Vande Mataram
Written by District Magistrate Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyaya (1838-1894)
"I salute you, my motherland."
----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Pakshi (National Bird) : Mor (Peacock)
Have beauty, grace, self-esteem. Do not wait for anyone to assure you of your qualities. Be self-confident of your abilities, and happy in your own self.  Also, be a bit mysterious and unpredictable, and no one can take you for granted.
Shake yourself out of the centuries-old low self-esteem, and break out of your imagined limitations and defeatist mentality. Hold yourself high in the community of nations. You do not need anyone's certificate to become a developed country or a powerful nation.

----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Pashu (National Animal) : Baagh (Tiger)
Be strong, quick and powerful. Assert yourself. Others should be a bit scared of you. Be fiercely passionate about achieving your aim. Be ambitious, and have a strong will-power. Be courageous, vivacious and dynamic. Do not make compromises. Be royal in holding yourself. Persevere in your efforts and have tenacity. Consider yourself deserving : no one can snatch your rights from you.
Physically, be fit, strong, healthy, flexible, agile, fast.
Don't procrastinate.....Go for the kill!!!
Awaken the tiger in you! India can no longer afford to be a 'sleeping' tiger. It is time to be fierce and gnarl!
All external/internal enemies of India : GGRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Jalachar (National Aquatic Animal) : Makar (Gangetic Dolphin)

The Vaahan (carrier/mount) of Goddess Ganga. It is found in river Ganga.

----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Pushpa (National Flower) : Kamal (Lotus)

Be divine, fertile, wealthy, knowledgeable and enlightened. Even if you are born in Keechad (marsh/ hard circumstances), rise high and bloom above it in full glory. Surrounded by impurities, be pure yourself. Surrounded by ugliness, be beautiful yourself. Be in water, but be dry yourself.
The greatest strength of India lies in its spirituality, over and above physical existence and materialism. Aatma (soul) is supreme, so the mann (mind) and tann (body) needs to be connected with it. India will always extend a hand of friendship to even her worst enemies. India will never offensively attack any country, because she does not need to. She has withstood all contamination and emerged pristine.

----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Phal (National Fruit) : Aam (Mango)

Be sweet, but with a strong core. Be soft to taste, but hard to crack. Be resourceful, believe in plenty, overflow with produce, be dense in substance. Every slice of you should be full of richness. Knowing you should a sweet experience, and others should be thirsting to know you more and more.
Maintain your self-reliance in agricultural and industrial production, polish your human resources, create a strong infrastructure (core of development), overflow with goodness and riches.
Anyone who learns about India, can't help but love it. It is overflowing with goodness, richness, substance, resources and love. One lifetime is not enough to know India fully. The density of Indian-ness is extremely high, so 'who is an Indian' is difficult to define.

----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Vruksh (National Tree) : Vat/ Bargad (Banyan)

Be strong and sturdy, spread your branches as far as possible, rise as high as possible. Do not break in the strongest gale or the most devastating storm. Be rock-steady and keep growing. Rise above the others and immortalize your deeds.
Millenia of cultural attacks have not shaken this phenomenon called Bhaaratvarsha. Rather it has spread its branches of culture, spirituality and love to the whole of Asia. Indosphere extends way beyond the geo-political boundaries of the nation.
Bring back the Golden Age with greater lustre. Become Jagadguru (teacher of the world) once again!

----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Krida (National Sport) : Hockey

Involve your heart, mind and soul. Let every bone leverage you; and every muscle seep energy into your endeavours. Play as a team, help each other, visualize a common goal, and work at it together. Combine all efforts together to achieve a big victory.
Unite and work towards common goal : a developed India. Ignore all dividing barriers : region, religion, caste, language, culture, race.

----------------------------------------------------------
Rashtriya Nadi (National River) : Ganga

Father : Himalaya (A snow-fed river is born of the snow and maintained by it). In Indian philosophy, the source of anything is called his/her Father; and her/his nurturer and developer is called the Mother.
Be the Amrit (ambrosia) of life. Your touch should give a new life to others. Your presence must rejuvenate others. Your consistency and dependability should make your admirable. Do not stagnate : you will rot. Keep flowing, keep going, progress steadily, breathe life into even the dead rocks and shape them smooth. Bring fertility wherever you go. Be nurturing to those who surround you.
The alluvial Indo-Gangetic plain, if efficiently cultivated, can produce enough food-grains to feed the whole world ! This is why Ganga is worshipped as Devi Ganga, Maa Ganga, HimalayaPutri Ganga.

----------------------------------------------------------

To be a strong 21st century woman...

-------------------
1) Love yourself. ( Don't wait for others to love you. If they do, be grateful )
No one can love you more than yourself. Not even your parents, siblings, spouse. So stop sulking and waiting for others to pamper you. Think about your well-being irrespective of emotions.
Self-love is a primary need. It is not narcissism. It is being aware of yourself and your own identity, independent of anyone else. It is defining yourself as to who you are with your backbone straight.
Let your self-worth be defined by what you do/think/speak, and not by any blood-relationship (who is your father/brother) nor any sexual relationship (who is your husband).
-------------------
2) Expect others to be bad. ( Don't expect others to be nice. If they are, be grateful )
20th century women cry when others are bad/rude/cruel to them. ("Ro kyun raho ho? Kissi ne kuch keh diya kya?")
The 21st century woman knows to answer back. She also remembers that no one has the right to be rude to her if the she has not done anything wrong. And if someone is unnecessarily rude, she sees through them. She can afford to lose friends to keep her dignity intact.
Learn to punch that anti-social (rapist/molester) and break his teeth. Teach that animal a lesson. Don't sit and cry that 'Oh! I got raped. Now no one will marry me. I am dishonoured!". Your honour is your integrity and rectitude; absolutely invulnerable to any criminal's perverse instincts. You have the right to keep your head held high under all circumstances.
If someone wrongs you, do not be the ever-forgiving Bharatiya Naari. Take revenge. Speak out loud. Refuse to suffer in silence. Take the wrong-doer to task. And no tears like Sita or Draupadi, please!
If your bridegroom asks for dowry, call the police (like Nisha Sharma). If your husband beats you, call the police; or even better, dump him.
-------------------
3) Take responsibility for your happiness. ( Don't expect others to make you happy. If they do, be grateful )
Put your own happiness first. You need not be too nice to others. Do things which make you happy. You are the most important person to yourself. Also, expect others to take responsibility of their own happiness. Their well-being is not your headache. Stop giving so much attention to others. Do not wait for assurances and approvals. Be self-assured and self-reliant. Don't wait for things to be handed over to you on a golden platter. Go ahead and achieve them yourself. Love someone only if that someone loves you. Love a country only if that country loves you.
-------------------
4) Solve your problems yourself. ( Don't expect others to solve your problems. If they do, be grateful )
Stop complaining. People have their own problems. So don't crib. Be solution-minded, and not the usual cynical soul. Be on the top of things. Run your life smoothly. Don't get exasperated by the day-to-day problems. Fix them immediately. Do not expect anyone else to solve your problems.
-------------------
5) Think that you deserve to live a good life. ( Who said you need to perennially suffer? )
Hold yourself in awe. Have high expectations in life. Give yourself the best. Pamper yourself. Provide yourself with high standard food, clothes, shelter, facilities, education, health, books, hobbies, infotainment, environment, holidays. If you don't provide yourself, nobody else will. (Everyone is busy with their own lives : there are not many Mahatma-s these days!)
-------------------
6) Stop putting up (tolerating) with anything sub-standard. ( An extension of the above )
Be quality-conscious. Stop accepting anything cheap. Refuse to put up with anything below your expectations : whether it is a shabby public toilet or an abusive partner. Maintain high standards. Show a good taste in every aspect of your life, 24/7/365. You will not settle for less by making quality compromises.
-------------------
7) Think yourself important.Feel important to be considered important )
Are you a good and important citizen of the country? Are you a good human resource? Do you matter to others? Can you make others come to you? Do people take you seriously? Do people listen when you speak? Can you stand out in a crowd?
How many people consider your time and efforts as priorities? Do people approach you for help? Are you considered a problem-solver? Do people think twice before cancelling an appointment with you? How many people are chasing you for your professional expertise?
How many people look up to you for inspiration? How many people find you admirable? Would it matter if you were dead? How many people cannot afford to lose your friendship/association? How many people would avoid picking a fight with you?
-------------------
8) Keep improving yourself. ( And don't bother if you are branded over-ambitious )
In India, women with high ambitions are considered "unmarriageable". But you don't bother. Go ahead and keep lengthening your body of work. You CV must sell in the market till you die.
Be punctual. Deliver when you promise. Meet deadlines. Be dependable. Be resourceful. Induce others to need you, your expertise, your time, your help. Succeed in your plan and make the next one. Opportunities multiply as you seize them.
-------------------
9) Make friends with the right people. ( You do have a choice )
Be extremely selective in making friends, because the human mind is very susceptible to the company they keep. You have the right to be your own person. Take opinions from the correct people.  It is OK to lose some 'friends' at times.
-------------------
10)  Know your job more than well. ( Everyone has a degree, not everyone has the meta-cognition)
Not only keep yourself updated about your profession, but also recognize the upcoming trends. Smash the 'glass ceiling'. Do your best and also inspire others to do their best.
-------------------
Wishing you a wonderful and successful 21st century! (All along this blog, I am primarily speaking to myself  :D )
